Vienna

We have been in Vienna, Austria the past couple of days. It's been cold and rainy, but we are having a great time. Rebecca got to go see the Vienna Boys Choir and we are about to take off for a Mozart Concert.

Last night we went to a restaurant that serves Schnitzel...they served us a TON of food. Shnitzel and fries until we almost keeled over.

Visited two piano companies today. Busendorfer and Joseph Brodmann.

Salzburg and Mauthausen Concentration Camp

Yesterday we left Munich on our way to Vienna, Austria. We made a stop at Salzburg, the place where Mozart was born.

We also made a stop at the Mauthausen concentration camp. It was a fairly intense visit when you get to see first hand where the attrocities were committed.

Germany

We left Lucern for Munich, Germany yesterday. Along the way we went to go see Neuschwanstein castle, built in the 1800's by King Ludwig II. Pretty awesome site to see. Couple of pics are below, but you would definitely need all the other ones we have too.

From there we traveled to Munich at met with a company called Rational. They manufacturer ovens for commercial use. We listened to a long presentation from them, and then did a walkthrough of their production processes. Once that was finally done, they made us a great dinner.....by time the food was done, the entire crew was starving, as we were about 2 hours behind schedule. So, needless to say, we gobbled up everything we could.

Today, we spent the morning with BMW and got to walk through their entire production facility in Munich. The afternooon was spent siteseeing.

Tomorrow, we are on to Vienna, Austria. This includes visiting Mozart's birthplace as well as visiting the Mauthausen concentration camp from WWII.

Lucern, Desentis, and Zug

We are staying in Lucern, Switzerland for one more night. Lucern has alot of interesting history behind it. Much like other places in Switzerland, it has the old and new intermixed, which makes for interesting architecture.

My group today visited 2 companies. First was Zai, located in Desentis, tucked away in the mountains. Zai produces high-end, mostly custom skiis. Second, we visited The Partners Group located in Zug. This is is an investment group founded by a couple of former EMBA students from a 10 or so years ago.

Rebecca got to tour the town with the other spouses today.

Here are some pictures for the kids to look at.

Switzerland

Quick update to our Europe trip...

Rebecca and I have been in Switzerland the past couple of days to begin our 2 1/2 week Europe extravaganza.

We flew into Zurich, then we were bussed to Grindlewald. We too a cog-wheel train up into the Swiss Alps and saw some incredible views from a high elevation. Grindlewald is more famous for being the backdrop for the sound of music.

The next day we went to Lucern, which is itself an incredible city. I've posted several pictures of both cities below.
